The day all of us in the Pacific Northwest will never forget. The day Mount St. Helens blew.
I remember that day because all the adults were acting very strangely. As the day progressed, it got darker. Pitch black at 3 pm. The ash started to fall. We stayed inside. My dad's paint company ran out of respirators and dust masks within hours. Thick ash over every surface. Pure chaos.
